Asterisk Creative combines premier design with results based advertising for national and regional clients throughout the Southeast. Located in Charlotte's Historic South End (stop by, we'll run down to the famous Price's Chicken Coop for lunch) Asterisk Creative opened in 2001, and has been featured in both the Charlotte Business Journal and the Charlotte Observer.
With the Roosters brand up and crowing, Asterisk Creative devised an original co-branded effort with the Queen City's favorite hockey team. The firm's partners felt that the two brands complemented each other and wanted to tout Roosters Men's Grooming Center becoming the official barber of the Charlotte Checkers.

Grooming’s checkered past.
The campaign depicts a humorous view of life before Roosters became the Official Barber of the Charlotte Checkers, featuring defenseman Rory Rawlyk, forward Lee Jacobson and of course everyone's favorite hockey loving polar bear, Chubby.

The goal was to develop an integrated campaign that featured both brands and was funny but not offensive. Apparently the concept of Chubby having to improvise ways of grooming the players struck fans as funny as it did us. Soon after the launch, posters started "disappearing" from the venues while on display.

The Checkers and Roosters each featured campaign signage in stores and the Bobcats Arena. Both companies displayed campaign artwork on their websites, and offered exclusive content in email newsletters. Together the two companies reached over 4,500 sports fans through out the greater Charlotte area.

The campaign was a grass-roots success, as fan and customer demand led to reprinting 2,000 extra campaign posters.
